Passenger rights under EU261

Passengers may have rights under EU261 when an Air India flight departs from an EU or EEA airport and arrives at least three hours late, is cancelled at short notice or results in a missed connection, provided the disruption was within the airline's control.

When are you entitled to compensation?

EU261 generally applies only to Air India flights departing from EU or EEA airports. Flights departing from India or other non-EU countries to the EU are generally not covered because Air India is not an EU airline.
