About Korean Air
Korean Air is South Korea's flag carrier and one of Asia's largest international airlines. Operating from Incheon International Airport, the airline serves destinations across Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania and the Middle East. Although Korean Air is not an EU airline, passengers may still be entitled to compensation under EU261 on qualifying flights departing from the EU or EEA.
How much compensation can you receive?
Eligible passengers may receive between €250 and €600 depending on the flight distance and the circumstances of the disruption.
Passenger rights under EU261
Passengers may have rights under EU261 when a Korean Air flight departs from an EU or EEA airport and arrives at least three hours late, is cancelled at short notice or results in a missed connection, provided the disruption was within the airline's control.
When are you entitled to compensation?
EU261 generally applies only to Korean Air flights departing from EU or EEA airports. Flights departing from South Korea or other non-EU countries to the EU are generally not covered because Korean Air is not an EU airline.
