About Thai Airways
Thai Airways is Thailand's national airline and a member of Star Alliance, operating long-haul flights between Asia, Europe and Australia from its hub at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. Although Thai Airways is not an EU airline, passengers may still be entitled to compensation under EU261 on qualifying flights departing from the EU or EEA.
How much compensation can you receive?
Eligible passengers may receive between €250 and €600 depending on the flight distance and the circumstances of the disruption.
Passenger rights under EU261
Passengers may have rights under EU261 when a Thai Airways flight departs from an EU or EEA airport and arrives at least three hours late, is cancelled at short notice or results in a missed connection, provided the disruption was within the airline's control.
When are you entitled to compensation?
EU261 generally applies only to Thai Airways flights departing from EU or EEA airports. Flights departing from Thailand or other non-EU countries to the EU are generally not covered because Thai Airways is not an EU airline.
